#SpeakerReveal: From Drop Out to Successful Criminal Lawyer
Our next speaker is a shining example that using one’s personal struggles as their strength can lead to success. Let’s hear Jordana’s story.
Jordana H. Goldlist is a criminal lawyer, a business woman, and a youth mentor. She graduated with an Hons. B.A. in Philosophy from York University in 2004, and then earned her LL.B/J.D. from Osgoode Hall Law School in 2007. She was called to the bar in 2008 and has been practicing law ever since. After two years in civil litigation, she spent five years at a busy criminal defence firm before branching off on her own.
Today, she runs JHG Criminal Law and focuses on homicide, guns, and drug-related cases. Outside of her legal work, Jordana is a youth mentor with Covenant House, Timeas Retreat, and Ryerson University. As a homeless school drop-out, Jordana spent most of her teens on the streets in Toronto. Today she teaches youth in transition how to use their personal struggles as their strength and develop the skill set they need to excel at life.
